Sony Computers Entertainment Inc. today announced new features and accessories for the PSP (Playstation Portable). This Fall Sony is planning to release a new camera and a GPS receiver. The new PSP -300 camera will be a Playstation Portable version of the Eye Toy. It is slated for release in September and will feature motion-tracking and video chat. The camera will be silver and attach to the USB port. The GPS receiver (PSP-290) is also due out in the fall. Hot Shots Golf reportedly will be the first game to utilize the GPS receiver. So keep an eye out for new games that will take advantage of these new features, such as, video chat and GPS functionality. There will also be some new features added with the release of the spring software update. Most importantly Macromedia Flash support! It’s about time! In addition the will also be improved RSS support for net-broadcast radio and video.

This is not a GPS for your PSP. This is a UMD based mapping program that Sony is planning to release in Japan sometime in April. There is no word on whether Sony will release a US or European version.

The X5 Portal is a PSP browser you put on your memory stick. It works by tricking your PSP into thinking it's going to the internet. The X5 Portal comes with 10 applications including a address book , some java games, and system preferences. There are two versions you can download an Aqua and a Dark Aqua.
